Praise in Prayer

I’m teaching on prayer in Sunday School and last Sunday I used Bill Bright’s online lesson on “A Guide to Effective Daily Prayer

As part of the discussion on Adoration, I recommended to the class that they read Bob Hostetler’s article on how to incorporate praise in prayer. Bob’s approach is to praise God for a different attribute of His every day.  Bob uses thirty-one Scripture-based sentences as “praise-starters” and works through the list every month.

For example on day seven he praises God for his Trustworthiness:

Heavenly Father, I give you my praise and adoration, because you are a “faithful God, keeping [your] covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love [you] and keep [your] commands. . . .” (Deuteronomy 7:9).
